The organizer of our blog hop, Sara at Scrap Happie, asked us to think about how we scrapbookers use our craft to be nice. I have to say that I think scrapbooking has made me a more generous person because while I cannot always be as generous as I want with my money, it's easier to be generous with my time. And I've come to learn that most people appreciate the gifts you put your time and heart into much more than the gifts you buy from the store.
For the purposes of this hop, I decided to share with you a card I recently made. A few weeks ago, I found out that a dear friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy. Despite being a fairly competent writer, situations like this often leave me for a loss of words. But I can express myself through my craft.
(Yes, I held a stuffed elephant above the card so that you wouldn't have to see my ugly tiled ceiling in the mirror, but obviously, when my friend reads the card, it'll be her face she sees in the mirror.)
Supplies: photo card, unknown; mirror, unknown; black chipboard, Heidi Swapp; silver alphabet, Mrs. Grossman's; purple alphabet, Me! etc.; puffy alphabet, SEI Puffalicious Doodley Doo Girl; ribbon tape, unknown
The next stop on the hop is Rainbow Crafter, who has some sweet blog candy to give away.

What a wonderful card! One of my closest friend's was diagnosed with breast cancer at 25. She was in remission when the cancer came back in her sternum (age 27). She had the roughest time the second go round but is now in remission again at age 29! Recently, my childhood best friend had to have surgery for cervical cancer (she is 28). They were able to remove her cervix and the cancer had not spread.
These ladies are my inspiration---They are SURVIORS!
So sweet...I bet that made her smile in this rough time she is going through! Best wishes for your friend!
