- I guess the nod to Friends is a dead giveaway of how old I am, huh? Not that I make it a secret. I mean, I did ask for an appliance for my birthday, and the townies can hear me shriek, "Another grey hair?!" every morning clear across the mountains.
- And speaking of Friends, don't you think the writers of How I Met Your Mother must be Friends groupies, too? Nine times out of ten, the plot element is remarkably similar to its 90s counterpart.
- Sorry for the stream-of-consciousness, though that's not what I had planned on apologizing for today. I guess this is going to be a Friday Fragments post. *inserting meme buttons*
- I wanted to take a moment to say I'm sorry for being a bad bloggy friend. If I haven't visited your blog or responded to your comment, your tweet, your email, your Facebook request, your text, or your voicemail - or if I haven't sent you your Christmas scarf (hi, Diane!) or your Christmas-turned-Valentine's Day present (which will now be an Easter present, Leigh) - it's not because I don't love you or I'm not thinking about you. I'm just momentarily FRIED.
- The new job is going well so far, but like anything new, it's monopolizing both my brain and my energy in trying to get used to everything that's different and learning all there is to learn.
- I think once I'm beyond the learning curve, I'm going to really like this job, which makes me incredibly happy and excited. My role has the potential to satisfy both my need for creativity and my need for geekiness.
- Since I woke up late, as per usual, that's all I have time for this morning. Hopefully I'll be back to a more normal routine and blogging schedule next week. I also hope to catch up on my virtual social life this weekend, so don't be surprised if you get bombarded with a week's worth of comments from me in the next few days. ☺ TGIF!

speaking of being a bad bloggy friend - can you just tag my name to that apology too? i've been a lazy reader. stalking...(hanging head in shame)
It happens to everyone! I'm still reading and will be here when you get back to it. Have a great weekend!
I'm behind on blogs too. I do miss you on my little spot on the blogsphere! And i've missed you in my reader. :) Good luck with the job though..we'll be waiting for you when things slow down!
I LOVE How I Met Your Mother. I think it's because I was just a little too young to really appreciate Friends when it was on (late high school/early college). That was before 30 got REAL to me. But Friends has always been one of my fav shows. I still catch reruns of it occasionally and it always gives me a chuckle.
Awww...you are such a good friend to apologize to your blogging buddies..friends understand that life happens outside of blogging...I know that I do...they do too I imagine...I enjoyed reading your post and blog...Smile your friends still love you...as I can read in the comments above me..
You seriously need to cut yourself a break Cheryl! You just started a NEW JOB. That is huge and I would expect it to occupy you at the moment. All your true bloggy friends will still be here when your life settles back into a manageable routine. :) xoxo
As soon as I read the title to your post, I thought "Friends!" That was, and pretty much still is, my most favorite show ever. Yes I own all the seasons on DVD and will still watch it in syndication. I am know, i need to get a life!!! lolol Completely agree with you, too, on the similarities between Friends and How I Met Your Mother.
Happy for you that the new job is going so well!!! :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm so excited you did!!!
I never really considered how similar Friends is to How I Met Your Mother, but you are exactly right! I don't think I'll ever watch it the same way again.
Ah the learning curve. It does take everything. I'm sure you will be back on top once it passes.
Love the dinosaur in your header !
Oh and I used to watch Friends and I watch How I Met your Mother and you're right, they do seem similar. I hadn't realized that.
So glad to hear the new job is going well! That's your priority first and foremost- we'll all be here waiting for you! :)
Don't worry the Friends reference doesn't make you old- I immediately knew you were referring to them and I'm only 21. :)
Glad you're liking your new job!
