#SummerBlogSocial: Bloggy Goals

Shortly after thinking about my future corner of the blogosphere, I heard about this online blogging event, Summer Blog Social, which I thought could help me redefine what being a blogger means to me at this time in my life, as well as give me the opportunity to meet other writers who may be going through the same blogging existential crisis.
Today's Prompt
Where do you see your blog in 6 months? How about a year from now?
Six months from now, I would like my blog to resemble what it was in 2009 at the height of (what I define as) its success: a medium by which to tell stories, reflect on both the monumental and monotonous moments in life, practice writing, and - most importantly - connect with other bloggers who I adore. I want to stop the mind games that I often play with myself these days, make the time I owe myself to write no matter how crazy busy life is, and again feel the joy that blogging once brought me. My ONE goal is that at the end of six months posts galore will fill the pages of my blog.

Because of the nearly inactive state I allowed my blog to succumb to this year, it's difficult to imagine what my corner of the blogosphere will look like 365 days from now. I hope it has the fun tone it once had, rife with pictures and videos, contests and giveaways. More than anything, I want it to be something I'm proud to share with a (semi-)wide audience. If we're refraining from censoring ourselves, I'll admit that I'd also love to blog elsewhere in a professional capacity, whether that be linked to my current job, guest posting, or getting paid to write content.

So now that it's out in the blogosphere for all to hold me accountable, I guess it's time to work on making it happen!

Why did it fall to the wayside? I hope you get tons of encouragement - I think that's the biggest push to keep on going, at least for me. You have an adorable design.

I hope you get back into it, but I hope it's because you love it - not because you feel like you have to. Because I feel the number one thing to remember is that it should be enjoyable. :)

I would love to see your blog restored to its former glory (if it is something that will truly bring you JOY and not be a chore!). I miss it.

If you've been there before, you should have no problem getting there again!

Best of luck to you in reaching your goal!

You are so right about 365 days from now. When you look at the average life of a blog, it's a pretty big gamble to bet on what blogging will hold for you or anyone in a year's time.

It's great that you find such joy in writing! Definitely try hard to make time for yourself to do so. :)

Hey, at least you never went half a year without updating....like some other site we know **cough** Girl Talk Thursday**cough** hehe. Although I was thankful for that outlet. Allowed me to find some really great blogs to read (Yours being one of them ^_^) and write on topics I wouldn't have otherwise chose for myself.
I've never been to a blogging event. You'll have to post all about it if you do go ^_^.

I understand what you mean about letting things lag for a while. I did the same thing. I hope you achieve all of your goals!
